Home of the Pioneer Patriots- The Pioneer High School is in walking distance just down the street from Sycamore Pointe Apartments! Also in walking distance is Tafoya Elementary school which is where the middle school students can catch a bus to Douglass Middle School. Right next door to Tafoya Elementary school which is only a couple of blocks from us is Klenhard Park! Not only does Klenhard Park have BBQ grills, Restrooms, a youth Playground, and a Soccer Field, but it also has lighted baseball fields and a snack bar when Baseball games are being played! Only a couple of blocks further from Klenhard Park and is still walking distance is Pioneer Park! The great thing about this park is it has 2 Covered Picnic Areas with tables that Shelter up to 50 people under each one, BBQ Grills, Restrooms, a tot playground and a youth playground and also has a beautiful walking and jogging trail with a par course! Not to mention the other 15 parks located throughout Woodland and the Two Public Pools that offer swimming lessons, lifeguard training, swim teams, and many other public events.

One of the many wonderful things about living in the City of Woodland is all it has to offer its community! There are many fun attractions close by and historic and fun events that are held every year! Get a feel of the historic part of Woodland at the annual Stroll Through History which is held in downtown Woodland and includes a free community street fair with activities such as historically costumed people, vintage vehicles, free children’s activities, Farmers Market, and exhibits and vendors. You also have a chance to walk through some of the historic building and victorian homes located throughout Woodland. Woodland is also the home of the Yolo County Fairgrounds which is the largest and oldest FREE gate Fair in California! The Fairgrounds are also the home of other annual events such as the 4-H Spring Show, Sacramento Scottish Games and Festival, the Capital Camellia AKC show, Annual Chili Cook-off and many numerous other public and private events! The 4th of July is big in Woodland! On the 4th of July every year the Fire Department that is located right across the street from us have a pancake breakfast with live music and free tours of the fire department! Also on the 4th of July The City of Woodland puts on events such as a bike parade for the kids, ice cream social, swimming at the Public pool, and to finish the 4th of July off at Woodland High School they have a big community event with many attractions and Fireworks in the Sky! Places of interest located within the City of Woodland include but are not limited to: the Gibson Mansion Museum, Heidrick Ag History Museum, Hays Antique Truck Museum House, The Sacramento River Train, Brand New High Tech Woodland Community and Senior Center, and the Woodland Opera House which was built in 1885 and still holds many plays, concerts, and shows throughout the year!
